Inspired Compositions
Published on April 03, 2008 at 2:00am
Although both institutions are full of creative people, there's little collaboration between the faculties of the Kansas City Art Institute and the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The ArtSounds series is an exception. Six times a year, the Art Institute and the conservatory put on a musical and artistic performance together. Tonight's event, "Music and the Music That Inspired It," is the final ArtSounds program this semester. Each original composition performed will be preceded by a jazz or pop tune that influenced it. The 8 p.m. concert is in Epperson Auditorium on the KCAI campus (4415 Warwick). Admission is free. For more information, call 816-802-3423.— Crystal K. Wiebe
