People, merchandise, energy and ideas are the building blocks of a marketplace. All these plus happy hour, live music and homegrown KC products make up the West Bottoms Urban Bazaar. The biannual event's organizer, Patrick Ottesen, says that "many different circles will collide" in the 5,000-square-foot loft space called the Foundation Room (1221 Union, 816-283-8990), renewing the spirit of the neighborhood. The bazaar kicks off with a preview shopping party and a performance by Afro-pop band Zombie Orchestra. The KC Roller Warriors will also be on hand. The party, hosted by Lillibelle boutique and J.P. Wine Bar, goes from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Take first peeks at the locally produced merch, including fashion, crafts and home décor. Partygoers and shoppers age 12 and older get in for $3.
